As a barometer of Chinese foreign trade business, the 104th China Import and Export 
Fair (Canton Fair) has concluded successfully. Although this Fair enjoyed less 
popularity than the previous ones,it was still able to provide the “Best Opportunities
”of this year to a large sum of enterprises for seeking orders. At the same time, the 
exhibitors aimed to make a judgment on the economic trends of the coming year with the
benefit of this Fair. In particularly, this Fair was commonly seen as an indicator of 
export situation by the exhibitors.The 104th China Import and Export Fair was held 
against the so-called “Financial Tsunami”, but it still managed to become the biggest 
of its kind in scale. With respect to the overall quality of the exhibitors, Mr.Gao 
Hucheng, the Vice Minster of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China,
made a point that upon management reform of the Fair the number of exhibitors would 
increase,  but the threshold for the exhibitors’ qualification would remain the same. 


    In addition to the requirement of export performance of the exhibitor, certain 
comprehensive regulation indexes were additionally needed, such as the safety of product
quality,environmental protection, technological innovation, intellectual property right,
 social responsibility, credit system and so on. The Vice Minister, Mr. Gao Hucheng also 
stated that the 104th China Import and Export Fair had realized “Three Optimizations” 
which were of the utmost importance. “Three Optimizations” should be explained as 
follows: 1st Optimization, to optimize the structure of the exhibitors by providing more
opportunities of promotion and propagation to the enterprises with independent 
intellectual property right as well as independent brand, especially the SMEs with 
independent innovation ability; 2nd Optimization, to optimize the product structure of 
the exhibitors by improving the independent innovation ability, enhancing energy  conservation and environmental protection and increasing the proportion of hi-tech 
products and the products with high added value, so as to fasten the fostering of a 
number of branded products with international competitiveness; 3rd optimization, to optimize the structure of buyers by cultivating a team of professional and powerful 
buyers, creating the international brands of China Import and Export Fair aboratively,
and enhancing the attraction as well as influence of China Import and Export Fair. 
Under such circumstance, thanks to the leaders of various levels of foreign-trade 
departments for their care and kindness, Yueming Laser was granted for two booths at the
104th China Import and Export Fair. The financial crisis of America is becoming  increasingly intense, and now finally spreads to China. It makes the foreign trade 
industry of China, which has enjoyed a rapid growth all through these 30 years, undergo 
an “ordeal”. The “Ordeal” influenced the 104th China Import and Export Fair to some 
extent,resulting in the recession of foreign trade and export. Upon the meltdown in the 
US subprime mortgage market,the global economy declined, directly resulting in the 
decline of international demand and the reduction of exports. Under the dual pressure of
exchange rate and export drawback, a great number of traditional manufacturing 
enterprises entangled in a mess. However, , 104th China Import and Export Fair provided 
Yueming Laser with great opportunity, as a fire brings a warm stream to the cold winter
. Inevitably, Yueming Laser could not escape the global economic slowdown,with its 
domestic selling proportion decreasing in the fourth quarter compared to the same  period of last year. Thankfully, the export of Yueming Laser had a growth of 30%, which 
is able to make its overall performance equal to that of the previous year. As a matter 
of fact, this situation chilled Yueming Laser. In the 104th China Import and Export Fair
, Yueming Laser received 368 orders, and also made acquaintance with lots of customers. 
However it managed to develop its own marketing channel on the international market. 
And the year 2008 will surely see a good business growth of Yueming Laser .
