Laser is supernatural. Now laser has been used in all kinds of industries. Such as metal cutting, cloth cutting, laser marking, laser engraving, etc. While many people are not very clear about the theory of laser. Today we explain it in details as follows.
Laser beam focused into a small spot (the minimum diameter can be less than 0.1mm), the focal point achieved high power density (which can be more than 106W/cm2). Then the input beam heat (transformed by the light energy) is far more than the heat reflected by material, conduction or diffusion .The material quickly heated to vaporization temperature, evaporation to form the holes. As the beam moves with the material relatively , so that holes be formed is very narrow (0.1mm or so). By metal laser cutting machine, it has little heat effect on trimming, so there is no deformation of the workpiece.
During the working process of metal laser cutting machine ,the appropriate auxiliary gas needs to be added. While cutting stainless steels,the laser cutting machine usually use oxygen as auxiliary gas. For using oxygen improves the finish of the section as well as cutting speed. However,the pressure of the oxygen shall be moderate to avoid popping. While cutting a polypropylene plastic we use compressed air as auxiliary gas , while cutting flammable materials such as cotton, paper, we use inert gases as auxiliary gas. Which can cool the focus lens and prevent dust contamination.
